the pacific republic

Formed: 1866

President: Frederick Lowe

Government: Democracy

Summary: The Pacific Republic relied on its already expanding population during the gold rush era (1850) to promote itself. By 1869, over 60,000 Mormons had settled in the Utah territory.

THE UNITY POLICY was embraced by the nation (excluding the Mormon population), encouraging the abandonment of individual traits. At the turn of the century, leaders eased their implementation practices (especially compared to the UOS and Victoria). The natural borders of The Pacific Ocean and the nation of Dakota has resulted in a mindset of separation from Eastern America.
